Cape Point & Cape of Good Hope
A visit to Cape Point in the Cape Point reserve (part of the Cape Floral Kingdom) is a must do outing. To look down from Cape Point to the ocean below where explorer Sir Francis Drake referred to this area as “the fairest Cape that we saw in the whole circumference of the Globe” is literally breath-taking.
A short ride down to the beach to take a photo at the most South-Western tip of Africa at the Cape of Good Hope is non-negotiable. The spray off the crashing waves on the rocks and views of the ocean where sea-farers struggled in their quest for safe landings are exquisite
Boulder Beach Penguins
Leaving the Cape of Good Hope reserve, we enjoy a scenic drive along the coastal road leading North, passing quaint yacht clubs and a 9 hole golf course in Simonstown. We will then visit popular Boulders Beach, the infamous home of thousands of African penguins.
The authorities responsible for the safety and well being of these delightful creatures, have managed to build viewing platforms for visitors without impacting the natural environment of this unique colony. Well worth a visit as a last stop before returning to your hotel.
